About the Ottawa Rainbow Services Network
Founded in 2002, the Ottawa Rainbow Services Network is comprised of non-profit organizations who strive to nurture the resiliency of children, youth, and families in LGBT (including, but not limited to: gay, lesbian, bisexual, trans, two-spirit, queer & questioning) and Gender & Sexuality Minority (GSM) communities. We support the development of agencies, schools, families, and communities that are safe and inclusive, and which celebrate diversity and equality.
We strive to work collaboratively to respond to systemic barriers including hetersexism, cissexism, homophobia, biphobia, and transphobia in the lives of queer and/or trans children, youth and families in the Ottawa area. Our strategies address these systemic barriers with the goal of promoting personal, interpersonal, organizational, and societal change.
Our Network aims to create a forum for information and resource sharing, co-ordination of services, collaboration of joint projects, organizaing of mutual support and training opportunities, identification of gaps and duplications in services.

Our membership is made up of diverse agencies and organizations that serve LGBT / GSM children, youth and families. This includes agencies and organizations that deliver LGBT specific programs and services, as well as those that are interested in building LGBT Cultural Competence and Social Inclusion. Our membership comprises GLBTTQ self-identified people as well as Allies. Our Network recognizes the significant contribution of Allies and values sharing and growing together.
